FAQ -
What is an adjustment?
A chiropractic adjustment is the art of using a specific force
in a precise direction, applied to a joint that is fixated, "locked
up" or not moving properly.
Are all patients adjusted the same way?
No, the doctor evaluates the spinal problems of each individual patient
and develops a course of care based on training and experience.
Can I adjust myself?
It is possible to bend or twist in a manner to produce the same popping
sound that sometimes accompanies a chiropractic adjustment. Unfortunately,
this type of joint manipulation is usually counterproductive.
About Chiropractic -
After setting an appointment and arriving for your first visit, your doctor
will review your health history and determine if your problem is likely
to be helped with chiropractic care.
The doctor will recommend a course of care designed for your specific health
problem. You are now ready for your chiropractic spinal adjustment.
Chiropractic is a science, art, and philosophy that concerns itself with
the relationsip between the nervous system and the function (health) of
your body.
When the 24 bones that protect your spinal cord lose their normal position
or motion, delicate nerve tissue can become choked or irritated. If
a thorough examination reveals malfunctioning areas of the spine, chiropractic
adjustments are recommended to correct the condition.
When there is a spinal joint malfunction, the discs, ligaments, and other
connective tissue are affected too.
